Know your agroecosystem

The first step to knowing your agroecosystem is knowing your broader ecosystem region.
The EPA Ecoregions site describes ecological regions as shown on the map above.

Once you have a handle on the natural ecosystem, you are ready to tackle the managed ecosystem. An agroecosystem can be defined as a management strategy applied to a natural ecosystem.

Compare the NRCS map of cultivated lands in U.S. (below) to the EPA map (above) to get a first idea of U.S. agroecosystems.
